First Days of School!

So I'm very behind and I'm going to try to catch up!! 

RIGHT after we had Claire's birthday and baptism, Cooper had his first day of first grade!

I tried to do a VERY simple special dinner the night before where Cooper got to pick out what he wanted to eat (chicken pockets). 

Look at sweet Cooper on his first day of zoo school when he was 3 1/2!  Crazy to see how little he was!

When we were getting ready to school, both Claire and Jackson wanted to wear their back packs as well!  We couldn't find Claire's so she used Cooper's old one.

 (this has nothing to do with first days of school, I just thought it was cute :))

 I had a little party after school for the kids (it was pretty simple- green apples to look like Mike and a rice krispy cake to look like Sully).

 Then we had Jackson's meet the teacher!

 Jackson started school about a week or two after Cooper.  This was his very first day of school, ever!  I was so nervous for him because last year when I brought him to MOPS childcare he sometimes would cry and I had to go and get him.  But he had no problems at all, he LOVES school!

So now two days a week it's just Claire and I for a few hours.  We are able to get a few errands done and I bring Claire to gymnastics on one of those days.  It's fun having one-on-one time with Claire but she misses her big brothers while they are gone! 

First Day of School Cont.

I have been so bad at taking pictures now that Cooper is in school! I need to get back into the swing of things! 

I realized I never blogged about our evening after Cooper's kinder.  We met Eliz, Ben, Laura, and my mom at Mellow Mushroom for dinner.  Oops, a fuzzy pic but shows the three big kids.  We got to sit in the bus and they loved that!

 Poor Jacks fell asleep on the way over so he wasn't too happy, but give him some lemonade and he perks right up! :)

First Day of Kindergarten!!

Cooper has almost 2 weeks of kindergarten under his belt and so far it's going well! He's gotten a smiley face sticker every day and comes home happy, so that's exactly what I hoped for! :) 

 

The week before school started I knew I wanted to do a little photo shoot with him and this vintage chalkboard my mom has-it used to be my Grandparents or even maybe my Great-Grandparents?  I thought it was so cute and perfect for a photo shoot.  We went up to school a week before it started on a Sunday evening to be sure no one else would be there to witness the craziness of me and photo props.  I'm pretty sure I'll only be able to get away with this in kindergarten :).

 We left at the very early time of 7:30 am to get there in time for school starting!  We live close enough to walk to school every day, I love it.   Except it's not too fun in this 105 degree heat along with the worry of West Nile.  It'll be nice in the fall though :).

 Had to get a photo with baby brother.  Jackson definitely misses Cooper while he's gone!

Our friend right down the street from us Zach is also in kindergarten so every morning and afternoon we walk to pick up the kids together.  It's fun to have someone to do that with!

 And with a wave, I left him.  He did GREAT! No tears, nothing.  I got teary-eyed but I didn't actually cry!  I was much sadder the night before.  Can't believe we have a kindergartener!

First Day of Pre-School!

Cooper recently had his first day of PK! He was so excited to go!
I can't believe how grown-up he is getting!

So far he LOVES school.

He brought his teacher a little treat for the first day (It says "looking forward to a sweet year with you-found that on some cute blog!)

Here he is all ready to go! He wasn't too sure because there was a student in his class who was crying and having to basically be restrained from running out of the room. I think that made Cooper a bit more apprehensive!

I went home very sad and missing my boy! Luckily I have another one at home to keep me company. But he kept saying "Cooper at PK, get Cooper." Jackson missed him too!

Cooper requested a special first day of school snack-Dirt! Yum yum.

It was Ben's first day of school too, so we met them for an early dinner to celebrate! Here are the two PK boys!

I'm so glad Cooper loves school but I'm missing having him home! I am going to be a wreck for kindergarten I think!
