Kansas Trip Cont...

 One of Cooper's favorite things to do in Kansas is go mini-golfing!  He remembers this particular course and the different holes that it has so he was excited to go.  It was REALLY hot but that never seems to bother the boys!

Jackson was really scared of this spider!  I kept trying to encourage him to get his ball out of the hole but NO WAY would he do it! :)

On the 4th we were very lucky to have our good friends stop over and say hi on the way to their family's house.  The kids look very coordinated don't they?  Ellie Kate, Jackson, Will, Patrick, and Cooper.  Ellie is a few months older than Jackson, and Will is a few months older than Cooper!

Grandma and Grandpa have an electric jeep so we of course had to get it out and try it with our friends.

Every time we get together we get a picture of the dads with the kids.

After they left we got a family picture.

I made this cake for the fourth.  It looks really cute but was disappointing to taste I thought, it wasn't very sweet!  I think next time I would just make it with cake mix, it probably would be much better! :)

The next morning we drove up to KC and were very lucky to see Great-Grandma and Grandpa S, plus Uncle Randy and Aunt Jeannie! 

The boys had lots of fun playing around with all of the relatives.

Cooking and Friends

We made campfires for a snack recently. SO easy and stuff we had on hand which made it even easier! :) They both enjoyed it!

We also made peeps s'mores. Yum!

Last thing we made was cake mix puppy chow. It was really yummy, I was surprised I liked it so much.

We had some friends over for a playdate over spring break and it's been so warm out, we got our bounce house out. Here are the kids eating some of the puppy chow.

We went over to our friends' Nikolas and Nathan's house for dinner a little while ago. The boys always have so much fun playing with them.

We went over to another friend's house over spring break and they just got a turtle! Cooper loved it. He kept asking if we could get one.

I had to capture a picture of the marble maze that Cooper made. (I think I helped a bit :) Fun times!

More Cooking

I wanted to share the worlds easiest cookie recipe! We got it out of the Parents magazine.
It's 1 C peanut butter, 1 C sugar, and 1 egg. That's it! Just mix it up, then roll into balls and roll into sugar.

Then you use a fork to make lines in them like this.

Bake for around 10 min at 350. SO yummy and easy!

I think I'm going to start a cookbook for the boys on shutterfly where I put the recipe on one page, and then pictures of them making it/eating it on the other page. My plan is to keep adding to it as they get older, and wouldn't it be a fun gift to give them when they're older?! That's my plan anyway, we'll see how it works out.

This was just hilarious. I was changing Jackson's diaper and he layed Mickey down beside him and said "mickey lay down diaper." So I put a diaper on Mickey and he thought it was hilarious. Then Cooper wanted one on. They actually wanted me to put one on but there are no pictures to prove or disprove anything!

Bee Cookies and Last Swim of the Season

So a week or two ago we made these bee cookies.
The boys loved it (especially eating them!)

You first spread frosting on a cookie and then put a mini twix on them. (the bee) You are supposed to color the frosting for the cookie blue. But I didn't.

Then you cut a marshmellow in half and use them as wings.

You also color frosting yellow (which I didn't) and stripe the top of the twix for the bee.

Here's our finished bee! Yes, it would have been cuter if I had colored the frosting, but this was easier and just as yummy!

We also had our last swim of the season. Boo.

It was a little chilly so Ryan was the only one who got in with the boys.

We'll miss you pool! Every time Jackson sees one he says "swim pool!"

Chocolate Covered Bananas

We recently had fun making a yummy snack. I melted some chocolate chips and the boys rolled a frozen banana in it. Then they rolled the banana in cheerios. The idea was to then put it back in the fridge to harden before they ate. I saw it in a magazine and they even put a popsicle stick in it to eat it. Well, Jackson was so excited to eat the snack, he started crying before we started making it to eat the chocolate! So our snack never made it into the fridge.

Yummy! Doesn't that look tasty?? (maybe not, it does look gross but I had some and it was actually really good!)

Cooper thought it was so much fun! We don't make fun treats very often so he thought this was really cool. I realized I need to do stuff like this more often!

Cooper by this point had left us to play, so I just kept taking pictures of Jackson. I had to pry him away from the chocolate!

Gotcha!

For April Fool's Day I played two little tricks on Cooper. He thought it was SO fun and kept asking me to play more tricks on him. Unfortunately I have a hard time coming up with things, and the only thing I could think of was the saran wrap on the toilet. After potty training a boy, the saran wrap hits too close to home, (I don't ever want to WILLINGLY encourage a mess in the bathroom :) so he didn't get many tricks after this. Just had to post this picture of him posing in his super cape! Cooper put Jackson's on him as well, I just didn't get a picture of it! They were so cute though both running around pretending to fly in them! The first trick was telling him breakfast was an ostridge egg. I thought he would be totally grossed out by this and refuse to eat it, but he wanted to dig right in! (it was a peach half on top of whip cream)

The second trick was I froze his orange juice the night before so it looks like you can drink it...

but it doesn't work!

Then I told him what I did and he thought that was so cool. We had to put another cup of water and a straw in the freezer so he could do it to me.

I have two cupcake cook books that are SO cute and I very rarely make things out of them. One second is an April Fool's section, so I decided to make these "TV dinner" cupcakes out of it. If you can't tell, they're mashed potatoes, drumsticks, and carrots. The carrots are supossed to also have green runts to look like peas, but I couldn't find them easily so I decided just carrots were enough. Cooper thought they were fun but immediately knew they were cupcakes.
